Case Study: Libertana Home Health

Libertana Converts EDI to Excel Effortlessly with EMS

Libertana Home Health is an innovative home healthcare provider serving more than 3,000 California clients. The franchise-based corporation provides one-stop shopping for integrated senior care services. It began partnering with EMS in January 2017 to help with its rapid growth.

“We needed a way to convert many EDI files routinely into downloadable, easy spreadsheets,” shared Jonathan Istrin, Libertana’s executive director. “After an initial attempt to create something in-house, we knew to search for a better, existing product.”

Istran and his team found it in the EDI Power Reader.

“We saw some other options, but none as easy to use. After a quick trial, we instantly knew the EMS software was the right choice.”

Libertana has grown by offering one-stop shopping for families with aging loved ones. It currently provides skilled nursing, personal care, physical and speech therapy, occupational therapy, care transitions, chronic care management and more. That adds up to a lot of EDI files, and the need for total efficiency to ensure billing accuracy and successful payments.

Libertana’s billers now use the EDI Power Reader daily. They’ve taken advantage of EMS’s free webinars and training. And Istran said the company is considering someday adding on the EDI Power Toolbox for editing, splitting and filtering files, sorting and exporting data.

“We’re a happy customer,” he shared. Just like Libertana’s own clients and families served.
